Aromatherapy Wrap

Wraps are a great and fast way to detoxify your body while smoothing your skin. One of the most important things to remember when doing a wrap on someone is the propensity for claustrophobia. Before you wrap someone, be sure to ask them if they are claustrophobic or if they’d like their feet or arms out of the wrap. Keeping the arms, feet or both out of the wrap helps ease the panic of closed spaces.

When doing a wrap at home these are some of the things you’ll need to prepare to do the wrap:

First layer on the bed, ground or table use an emergency blanket (optional but important), then use a wool blanket, a plastic sheet (if you can get one) and a towel to cover the body while applying the wrap.

Choose an Aromatherapy oil, which is just a massage oil with just a few drops of essentials oils mixed in.

Have the person lay face down under the towel and apply the oil to the back, gluts, legs and arms. Have that person turn over and apply the oil to the front of the body. If you are wrapping a woman, make sure you cover her breasts when you rub the oil on her stomach.

Wrap the person to their comfort level, whether it is snug or loose but the tighter the better for detoxing.  Place a pillow under the persons needs for better spine alignment.

Keep the person wrapped for 20-25 minutes.
